Gillyanne and Jeremy's new book has arrived four weeks early! The first copy of Successful Singing Auditions rolled off the press and into our letterbox a few days ago. Release was set for the end of March, so we are delighted that A&C Black have managed to produce the book so fast. And the good news doesn't stop there. We have just heard that Gillyannes American publishers, Routledge, have published the book in the US and in Canada. You can order copies from Vocal Process Ltd, or buy a copy on the net or in good bookshops.

It has been an extremely busy six months for us. Our first distance learning product appeared at the end of January – the Basic Vocal Functioning CD. Following requests from the British Association of Barbershoppers, we set about creating a distance-learning information CD, aimed at anyone interested in improving and maintaining their voice. We have given permission to BABS to include one track – the siren – in their own distance-learning CDRom for Chorus Directors. We are due to start work on the second CD in May.

As part of our preparation for the Voice Styles Intensive course for the Voice and Laryngectomy Special Interest Group in Northern Ireland in January, we visited Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham to record some endoscopic views of different vocal gestures. We now have some excellent stroboscopic views of vocal fold plane change, retraction, breathy speech versus speech, and vocal fold fry to present on our courses.

Gillyanne has been invited by Central School of Speech and Drama to create a module for the MAVS course and alumni. This tailored Voice Styles Intensive will take place in May. And last month Gillyanne visited the LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts or The Paul McCartney Fame School) as consultant for the BA Acting course.
