Constriction and Release is the third in Looking at a Voice series of downloadable voicebox videos from Vocal Process ["stunning shots" The Singer Magazine]. Each video in the series contains clear footage of a healthy functioning larynx performing various vocal tasks, both singing and speaking.

Constriction and Release shows views of the larynx as the subject opens and closes the false vocal folds (resulting in a "open" or a "tight" throat respectively). The false vocal folds are constricted and released during silent breathing and during phonation. In this video both endoscopic and stroboscopic video footage are included to show the results of constriction and release on the true vocal folds. The video also contains footage of fast constriction, and voluntary constriction of the supralaryngeal areas. The viewer can rewind or pause the video at any point.
