Description
38 tracks of audio
examples with a 16 page booklet containing page references for both
editions of the book and additional comments on the exercises.
"Since the publication of the first edition of Singing and the
Actor, I have received numerous requests for some kind of audio
guide. The SATA audio guide will take you on the 'hear-feel' route
that is so important for many performers and teachers.
The audio guide will
work best if you have read or are currently working with the book.
All of the key awareness exercises and routines are demonstrated on
the CD, with the page references from both First and Second Editions
of the book. Singing and the Actor is a training manual, so the
sounds you hear are not intended to be a finished vocal performance.
They are the sounds of an actor in the process of training. Many
tracks are demonstrated by both male and female voice; sounds that
are not range or pitch dependant are demonstrated by just one voice.
As in real life the actors have chosen their preferred routes to
finding a vocal set-up; track 37 Steps to twang quality is a good
example. I would expect you do to the same by using the auditory cue
that works best for you.
Enjoy!"
