Overview
This course will enable you to understand the science
behind the sound, and what motivates us to make it. The
information and practical work will be suitable for performers
and those who need to teach belting.
Course topics will include the following:
Components of Belting - vocal warm-ups appropriate to belting,
voice qualities that contribute to belting; physical
preparation and safety parameters.
In addition we
shall be looking at stylistic factors such as integrating belt
into song and variants of belting that are used in musical
theatre and other non-classical genres
Participants will also have a chance to try out strategies
learned on the day under experienced supervision.
The course
will be led by Gillyanne Kayes
and Jeremy Fisher

10:00 and finishes at 17:00.
